Chess tactics for beginners, taught one idea at a time. Most players under 1000 do not lose to deep strategy. They lose to a fork they did not see. ChessTactics turns every tactic into a short course: a lesson, a drill where the idea is named, then a test where it is hidden. The fork, the pin, the skewer, the back-rank mate, the discovered attack, the deflection: each gets its own chapter, at three levels. A path, not a pile of puzzles One continuous trail of chapters, in order, from your first fork to your first deflection. You always know what to do next. Chess puzzles at your own level Ten puzzles set your rating, then the ladder is yours. Every move is checked on our servers, so the number means something. Start at 800 if that is where you are. Learn from your own games Link a Lichess or Chess.com username and we replay every game with a chess engine. Where you had a tactic and played something else, it comes back as a puzzle from your own game, named by tactic. Daily chess puzzle One shared puzzle a day, the same position for everyone, plus a streak worth keeping. Sprint against the clock Three minutes, five minutes, or survival. Three strikes and you are out. Ranked boards, because the answers never leave the server. Spaced repetition Every chess puzzle you miss comes back tomorrow, then in three days, then in a week, until it sticks. Who it is for Beginners and improvers, roughly 600 to 1600. If you know how the pieces move and you want to stop hanging them, this is built for you. What you learn Fork, pin, skewer, discovered attack, double check, back-rank mate, smothered mate, deflection, decoy, overloading, removing the defender, zwischenzug, promotion, hanging pieces, mate in 1, mate in 2, mate in 3. Premium A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited rated puzzles and practice, unlimited sprints, level III of every course, and a scan with no game limit. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, there is nothing to cancel. Online only, on purpose Your rating, your progress and the puzzles you missed are kept on our servers, with your account. That is why ChessTactics needs a connection. Puzzles come from the Lichess open puzzle database (CC0), classified by tactic and by rating.
