What fell and what's coming, on one screen. Rain Tally is the virtual rain gauge for the question every gardener and grower is already asking: do I need to water today, or will the rain do it? Past 7 days, next 10, and your weekly rainfall target in one view. PAST AND FUTURE TOGETHER Most rain apps show you a forecast or a recent total. Rain Tally puts what's already fallen next to what's still coming, so the watering decision is one glance, not a running tally in your head. ARE WE ABOVE NORMAL? A dry spell is easy to feel and hard to measure. New in 2.0, Rain Tally carries long-term precipitation averages for every location: what usually falls at your location for any stretch of the year, built from records going back to 1970. Your recent rainfall sits beside its long-term normal. YOUR RAIN GAUGE WINS Rainfall is local at a resolution no weather service can match. Two gauges within a mile of each other can differ by two inches in a single heavy storm. When your gauge says one thing and the weather service says another, Rain Tally trusts your number. Log what fell, and every chart and total recomputes against your data. Most days you won't need it. The weather service and what fell in your yard will match closely enough. For the days they don't, your number wins. YESTERDAY'S FORECAST BECOMES YESTERDAY'S MEASUREMENT Most weather apps show the forecast at the moment you look, then move on. Rainfall measurements don't land instantly. Weather-station staff have to read their gauges, the service combines that with other data, and a finalized number publishes hours or days later. Rain Tally keeps checking for 10 days, swapping each day's forecast for the measurement once it's in. A week later, when you look back at the chart, the app has those updated numbers. DROP A PIN ON THE MAP Search by address, or drop a pin anywhere on the map. The pin is there for the spots an address can't reach: food plots, pastures, the back corner of a property. One tap captures the coordinates and the local time zone, and the location gets its own past, forecast, and target. You can also just tap the map to get recent rainfall for any location. Radar and precipitation maps show what's moving through and what the next hour brings. HISTORY AND TRENDS Pull up any year by day, week, or month, in a chart, table, or calendar. Compare this year against past years, and to the long-term average, to tell at a glance whether the season is running wet or dry. Toggle between calendar year and water year (October through September) for agricultural and water-resource planning. ALSO IN THE APP • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets per location • Export every daily total to a CSV • Track one location for free; multi-location, History, and Trends with Plus or Pro • iPhone and iPad. Your data stays on your device. WE BUILT IT FOR OUR OWN GARDEN Disparate Elements is an independent software studio. The founders are engineers who garden, and Rain Tally came out of wanting a better way to track rainfall in our own beds and the community-garden plots where we volunteer. "Do we need to water, or will the rain do it?" is the question we ask ourselves every week. If you're asking the same one, this is the tool we built for you. Deviant Weather — your weather, in context. Most weather apps tell you what the weather is. Deviant Weather tells you how unusual it is. Every reading — temperature, pressure, wind, humidity, and more — is compared against years of local climate history, so you instantly see what's normal for your location and what isn't. It's the difference between "68°F and cloudy" and "68°F — notably cooler and much cloudier than usual for this time of year." KNOW WHAT'S NORMAL. SPOT WHAT'S NOT. • A dozen conditions analyzed for anomalies — temperature, feels‑like, dew point, humidity, pressure, wind speed and gusts, cloud cover, UV, and precipitation • Baselines built from up to a decade of real local history for your exact location — not a global rule of thumb • "For this time of year" comparisons that account for the season and time of day • Thresholds calibrated to each place's own climate, so a small wobble never gets flagged like a true outlier • Plain‑language summaries with the numbers behind them: "Current temperature is 68°F vs. the historical average of 74°F — 6° cooler than typical" • Month‑to‑date trends and extreme‑event detection for the standout days SEE THE STORY, NOT JUST THE NUMBER • Interactive 24‑hour charts for temperature, pressure, and wind — current reading, historical average, and the deviation between them, all in one view • Tap any hour for an exact readout • A "normal range" band that shows the typical historical range at a glance • A 10‑day forecast with daily ranges, conditions, and a clear color language (cooler = blue, warmer = red) used everywhere BUILT TO LIVE ON YOUR DEVICES • Save your favorite places and add your current location • Syncs your locations and settings across iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud — no separate account, no third‑party servers • Privacy by design: precise coordinates stay on your device • Works offline with cached conditions, charts, and forecasts • A clean, adaptive layout for iPhone and iPad in full light and dark mode MADE YOUR WAY • Choose your units for temperature, pressure, wind, precipitation, and distance • Toggle confidence indicators, the normal‑range band, and more • Designed for accessibility — VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, and high‑contrast support throughout Powered by Apple Weather. Stop guessing whether today is "weird." See exactly how it compares.
