Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Polymuse 3D scanner at 100% against Spectacular Rec's 50%. Polymuse 3D scanner also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). Spectacular Rec's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Spectacular Rec holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polymuse 3D scanner has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Polymuse 3D scanner's written reviews are positive against 50% of Spectacular Rec's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Polymuse 3D scanner ships an update fortnightly, Spectacular Rec every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and June 26, 2026 respectively.
