Almost everything you learn has an order. Most learning material hides it, but Flowsophy shows it. You cannot understand eigenvectors without vectors, or the French Revolution's politics without the price of bread. Type what you want to learn, then Flowsophy generates a Flowmap that orders the concepts your topic rests on. Every node and arrow pointing from what you need to know first. Two routes run through every Flowmap: the shortest path, with the fewest concepts that still get you there, and the detailed path, which fills in the rest. Walk the map concept by concept, or read it as chapters in learning order. STUDY INSIDE THE MAP Tap any concept node for its explanation. Open its Wikipedia article without leaving the app, and save passages you need for the concept. Write your own per-node notes on any concept, and also keep a scratchboard for thoughts and notes on the whole map. Star the concepts you want to return to. TURN ANYTHING INTO A FLOWMAP Any topic, your documents (EPUB, PDF, text or Markdown), and YouTube videos (Pro feature) become a Flowmap. THE GUIDE (PRO) Ask The Guide about the Flowmap you have open. For questions about the subject, thoughts on your notes, clarifications, you have The Guide. YOUR LIBRARY, AND EVERYONE ELSE'S Every Flowmap you make is yours to keep, saveable to your private library, searchable across titles, notes and saved passages, and available for download offline (up to 10). Share your Flowmaps with friends through a link, or display your Flowmap on your public profile. Snapshot someone else's Flowmap from their profile into your library and study it with your own notes. Discover featured Flowmaps, and follow the people who make the ones you like. SPARKS AND PRO Spark packs are available in the app, they are used to create Flowmaps. Everything else is free: Reading, studying, notes, sharing and the library. Pro is $8.99 a month or $79.99 a year (US prices; prices may vary by region), and includes 20 Sparks every month, The Guide on every flowmap, video flowmaps, and all themes. Renews automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel any time. Beautiful themes. 6 languages. No advertising, and private by default. Every idea stands on the shoulders of others. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Flowsophy at 5.0 against Y Combinator's 4.1. Y Combinator's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ratings volume (27 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flowsophy sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Y Combinator asks for nothing beyond the download.
Flowsophy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Y Combinator has 27 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
