Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Ascendling at none against VolcanUp's shown. Ascendling also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and review sentiment (100% vs 90%). VolcanUp's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
