Is today a good day? Jade Codex is a traditional Chinese almanac (黃曆, the tong shu) that answers from the day itself, and from your own chart. IS TODAY A GOOD DAY? Every day has a complete 黃曆 page: the full 宜 and 忌 lists, the 建除 day officer, the 值神 spirit, the lunar mansion, the 彭祖百忌 caution, the clash animal and the directions. Free, complete and the same for every reader. YOUR BAZI CHART, BY TRUE SOLAR TIME Enter your birth date for your Four Pillars chart (八字): Day Master, elements and the 流年 annual cycle; Premium opens the ten gods and every decade-luck pillar. An exact birth time is corrected to true solar time for your birthplace. Then today is read against your chart: a tier for the day and a line on what to do. PICK A GOOD DAY A wedding, a move, a haircut? Choose from more than 100 undertakings and see the days in the next 30 that the almanac favors for it, each with its reason. Premium looks 90 days ahead and ranks the days for your chart. NEW IN 2.3: THE JADE CODEX COMMENTARY The received I Ching sits at the center: the judgments, the images and all 384 line texts, quoted from pinned classical editions. Around it is an original commentary written for this app: the hexagrams through the year, the sixty days, clashes and harmonies, and propositions about the calendar, each with its proof. Every passage is badged: received text, modern rendering, commentary or calculation. • A line from the classics each day on Today, with its source one tap away. • Today's hexagram follows the double hour (時辰), and the card says when it turns. • Your lines of the year (Premium): the lines that carry your chart's pillars, dated. • Write a note on a line; Premium brings it back the next year that line returns. ORIGINS Origins (源流) is a river of 29 turning points, from the Shang day count to the Qing almanac, in four lanes: Calendar, Changes, Birth and Dreams. Each claim is marked History records, Unearthed text, Scholars differ or Tradition says, and most turning points link to the part of the app they became. ALSO INSIDE • I Ching: cast with three coins; read the received text and changing lines beside a modern rendering. • Your Chinese zodiac sign, and how this year's Tai Sui meets it. • 972 Chinese dream symbols in the 周公解夢 tradition. Describe a dream in your own words. • The Resonance Clock: the double hours, the 72 pentads and your birth on one wheel, with alarms by the double hour, dawn alarms and twelve 律 bells. • Widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy, Control Center, Siri and Shortcuts; Origins and the 64 hexagrams in Spotlight. • English, 简体中文, 繁體中文 and Español, each complete, up to the largest text sizes. WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM Everything is computed on your device. Solar terms come from a table precomputed from NASA JPL's DE440 ephemeris. 宜/忌 come from a 通書 table; the day officer and clashes follow 《欽定協紀辨方書》 (Qing, 1741). The Sources & Lineage page names every source. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION No ads, no account, no server. Your birth data never leaves your device. JADE CODEX PREMIUM Premium ranks each day for your chart, opens past and future days and good days 90 days ahead, reads your chart and every year ahead in depth, and adds unlimited casts, dream readings and chart questions, your lines of the year, returning notes and the full Resonance Clock. Written readings use Apple Intelligence, on the device, where supported. The 宜/忌 lists, the Commentary and Origins stay free. Subscriptions are offered monthly and annually. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.
