Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: BBQEwatch at none against Browser Watch's shown. BBQEwatch also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and device support (4 vs 2). Browser Watch's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (65% vs 49%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Browser Watch sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and BBQEwatch sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
BBQEwatch holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 49 and 65 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Browser Watch's written reviews are positive against 49% of BBQEwatch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Browser Watch ships an update fortnightly, BBQEwatch every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
