Losing your job is overwhelming. Suddenly you're facing a mountain of questions: How do I file for unemployment? What about health insurance? How do I even start looking for a new job? And how do I get through the day when everything feels uncertain? Unemployed...For Now! is the personal guide you wish you had on Day 1. We built this app because we've been exactly where you are — and we know that what you need isn't just another job board. You need someone in your corner, telling you what to do today, what can wait until tomorrow, and reminding you that this season won't last forever. HERE'S WHAT YOU GET: A PERSONALIZED DAILY PLAN The app creates a structured daily plan based on your situation — your state, your goals, your timeline. No more staring at the ceiling wondering what to do next. Open the app, see your tasks, take one step forward. STATE-SPECIFIC UNEMPLOYMENT GUIDANCE Filing for unemployment is different in every state. We provide direct links to your state's official filing portal, phone numbers, and step-by-step guidance so you don't miss deadlines or leave money on the table. TASK MANAGEMENT BUILT FOR THIS MOMENT Your tasks are organized into categories that matter right now: Urgent (file unemployment, health insurance), Job Search (resume, applications, networking), Financial (budgeting, benefits), Health (exercise, mental wellness), and Growth (learning, skills). Each task includes time estimates so you never feel overwhelmed. YOUR SHERPA — DAILY MOTIVATION & SUPPORT Every day you'll get a motivational message from your Sherpa — a gentle nudge to keep going when things feel hard. Plus mood check-ins to track how you're doing emotionally, because your mental health matters as much as your job search. CURATED RESOURCE LIBRARY Hand-picked guides, videos, and tools organized into clear paths: Foundation (the essentials), Money & Benefits, Job Search, Family & Dependents, and Mind & Body. No more drowning in Google results — we've done the research for you. PROGRESS TRACKING & MOMENTUM Watch your momentum build as you complete tasks, maintain streaks, and track your comeback journey. Small wins add up, and we make sure you see them. WHO THIS IS FOR: Recently laid off and don't know where to start Feeling overwhelmed by everything you need to figure out Want structure and guidance, not just a list of job postings Need emotional support alongside practical help Looking for state-specific unemployment filing help This app was built by someone who's been through it — not by a corporation. Every feature exists because it would have helped us on our worst day. Your comeback starts now. We'll walk with you every step of the way.
