Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Elden Slider at 100% against Crimson Map's 21%. Elden Slider also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). Crimson Map's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.4) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crimson Map sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months. Elden Slider asks for nothing beyond the download.
Crimson Map holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crimson Map has 294 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Elden Slider's written reviews are positive against 21% of Crimson Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Elden Slider ships an update every 5 months, Crimson Map every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
