The Wind Calculator app is your essential tool for calculating crosswind, tailwind, and headwind components. It is user-friendly and designed for quick checks of wind conditions against limits - perfect for in-flight use. To use the app, simply set your limits, input the current wind conditions, and specify the runway heading. The app will display the wind components and warn you if your limits are exceeded. You can enter wind data and runway heading by typing in the input boxes or by dragging the wind arrow and runway heading compass. It will also show you the maximum wind speed that stays within your specified limits, along with the wind direction, so you won't have to guess how much wind you can accept. You can save different limit values for each Runway Condition Code (RCC) and easily switch between RCCs using the dedicated buttons. Edit your settings to display a simplified limits section if you do not need to use RCC-based limits. Finally, you can quickly change the wind speed units using the respective toggle switches.
