universe2go+ vs Happy Patterns

universe2go+ is an audio-visual sky guide specially designed for usage with the augmented reality (AR) viewer universe2go+. universe2go+ contains more than 3 hours of excellent audio (available in english, German, French and Spanish) and hundreds of specially processed images. It contains more than 2 million star comprising the complete Hipparcos star catalogue (120.000 stars), stars from the GAIA catalogue and NGC catalogue (7.000 objects). In conjunction with the AR-Astro-Glassses (AR = augmented reality) you can see the night sky with all the stars AND at the same time you will see additional information about the stars and constellations. This way a symbiosis between the real sky and virtual graphics and text is created. universe2go+ will use the sensors of your smartphone to generate the corresponding information for the exact spot of the sky that you are looking at. Maybe you are already familiar with some other starmap apps which can do this also, but universe2go+ is very different! In Planetarium-Mode (when the smartphone is inserted into the AR-viewer) it will guide you through the night sky and has 3 major advantages compared to other planetarium apps: 1) universe2go+ uses a special algorithm and heuristics to identify the star you are looking at with high reliability. In addition it will use the camera of your smartphone to recalibrate the sensors every time you keep the device still. 2) universe2go+ displays the constellations the same size and the same place as the appear in the sky. This is called context aware see-through augmented reality. This makes it much easier for the beginner to do the matching between digital content and reality. 3) universe2go+ is fun. You get an automatically activated zoom, that will show you planets, nebulae, galaxies, satellites and much more. That's super cool and fun. universe2go+ has several modes so you can explore the night sky in many different ways: 1) Starter-Mode: explore all 88 official constellations. See lines connecting the appropriate stars and listen to information describing the constellation. 2) In addition to Starter mode get more detailed information about prominent stars. 3) Mythology-Mode: listen to entertaining stories about the constellations which have been told by the ancient greeks. This way you will easily learn much about the heroes of old, Gods, Beasts and beautiful princesses. 4) Deep-Sky-Mode: see images (most of the from the Hubble Space Telescope) of planets, nebulae, star clusters, galaxies, comets, satellites in a way that would be impossible even with the best telescope. In star map mode the universe2go+ app can be used without the augmented reality viewing device. NOTICE: will need the universe2go+ Astro-Glasses to use the Modes Starter, Discovery, Mythology and Deep-Sky. (see universe2go.com for more information) Compatible with all iPhones with IOS version 12.0 and above. Runs also on iPad. The App universe2go+ can also be used with the first version of the universe2go AR-Viewer, but the camera support will not be available, due of the closed lid.

Happy Patterns is a collection of interactive visual art for iPhone, shaped through colour, motion, mathematics and careful craft. It is made to bring small moments of curiosity and delight. There is no feed to follow, score to chase or task to finish. Instead of asking you to keep scrolling, Happy Patterns gives you visual pieces worth spending time with. THREE VISUAL WORLDS ATTRACTORS The mathematics of chaos transformed into flowing three-dimensional forms. MANDALAS Symmetry, colour and repeating motion unfolding from the centre. BLOOM Layers of petals, movement and carefully chosen palettes coming together as ever-changing flowers. TOUCH, TILT AND EXPLORE Every pattern has its own character, controls and small surprises. Turn a form with your finger. Tilt your phone to change the perspective. Adjust the movement or colour, or randomise the parameters to explore a new variation. When you want a quieter view, hide the interface and let the pattern fill the screen. CAPTURE AND SHARE Save the moments you like as images or videos, then share them with other people. MORE TO EXPLORE Each world is ready to explore from the moment you open the app. Optional one-time purchases unlock more patterns within a world or the fixed Launch Collection of Attractors, Mandalas and Bloom. Happy Patterns will continue to grow with new visual worlds, each developed with the same attention to beauty, interaction and detail.
