Die USB Indoor-Navigation ergänzt die örtliche analoge Signaletik auf dem Gelände des Universitätsspitals Basel. Sie ermöglicht eine aktuelle Wegleitung von «zu Hause bis zum Termin», indem sie ausserhalb des Spitalareals auf Kartenmaterial von Google und innerhalb des «Campus Gesundheit» auf eine vereinfachte Grundrissdarstellung zurückgreift, um die Nutzer*innen an ihre Anmeldepunkte zu leiten. Sie leitet Patient*innen und Besucher*innen auch vom USB Gelände zu den Aussenstandorten in der Stadt. Neben den patientenrelevanten Zielen lassen sich auch Service- und universitäre Ziele per Texteingabe oder durch Scannen eines Codes eingeben, z.B. Cafés, Geldautomaten, Kapelle oder Hörsäle. Die App nutzt für die Positionsbestimmung GPS und Bluetooth-Beacons innerhalb der Gebäude. Im Sinne der Barrierefreiheit lassen sich Treppen und nicht geeignete Lifte und Routen bei der Wegleitung vermeiden. Die App ist momentan in Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Italienisch lokalisiert.
