Preparing for the 'Leben in Deutschland' test, also known as the citizenship test, is not just about preparing for an exam. It is also an opportunity to get to know Germany better. Its history. Its values. Its democratic principles. And that is precisely why the central idea of the LiD Entfalter is: Pass the test by understanding. Because understanding leads to more effective learning. Those who understand are more relaxed. Und wer versteht, geht mit deutlich mehr Sicherheit in die Prüfung und danach durchs Leben.
So, if you want to prepare for the "Leben in Deutschland" test, don't start by learning things by heart. Start with understanding. This also fits with your situation. Maybe you have been living here for several years. You work, learn German, have made friends and feel like you're part of society. Now you want to take the next step: You want a residence permit or German citizenship. Both offer security, a sense of belonging and the opportunity to shape your future in Germany.
To achieve this, you must demonstrate your knowledge of the legal system, society and life in Germany. This is where the "Leben in Deutschland" test, also known as the citizenship test, comes in. This is an extensive set of questions with a total of 310 exam questions. Many people start their preparation with the wrong strategy: they simply learn the correct answers to the questions by heart. It's annoying: 310 questions – countless answers – hours of repetition. This is not a good idea: Those who only learn by rote often forget what they have learned shortly after the exam. The connections remain unclear and you don't really become smarter. The LiD-Entfalter offers a much more efficient approach. It's a way that doesn't involve rote learning, but understanding. Here, individual questions are not considered in isolation, but the contents of the "Leben in Deutschland" test are categorised and explained in a way that is easy to understand.
This creates a comprehensive picture of Germany in your mind, step by step: Why is the Grundgesetz in place? How does democracy work in Germany? What does 'separation of powers' mean and how does it work? Which historical events have shaped today's Germany? What are the important rules in everyday life? Understanding these connections often allows you to find the right answers to these questions yourself. The LiD Entfalter uses an innovative, sustainable learning method: clarifying and easy-to-understand base texts and supplementary information texts convey important connections and background information on a subject. Parallel to this, thematically relevant vocabulary helps you to understand and retain key terms securely and in the long term. The official test questions are then incorporated into a factual text on the subject, which matches the content of the questions. This creates a direct link between knowledge and application. An abstract exam question becomes an element in a comprehensible context. All content can also be read in your own language. This means that language barriers do not become hurdles and even complex topics become clear and understandable. The 12 subject areas covering the questions ensure that you have an overview of the whole subject while you are learning.
An overview of each topic shows which questions you have mastered, which are still open and which you should review again. This gives you an overview of your learning progress for each topic and overall.

To ensure that the questions are relevant, the LiD-Entfalter takes into account the federal state that you specify. It also offers all texts in the language you select at the beginning.
