LOF Clutches has been making and supplying clutches and brakes for Land Rovers for years, and this app is our parts counter in your pocket. THE RIGHT PART, FIRST TIME Ordering parts for a Land Rover is harder than it should be. The same model can have three different engines and two wheelbases, and a part number that fits one will not fit another. So tell us your vehicle once — model, year, engine, wheelbase — and the shop does the rest. You only ever see parts that fit what you actually own. Keep the whole family's vehicles in your garage and switch between them in a tap. Your basket, your addresses and your order history come from the same lofclutches.com account you already use, so nothing is duplicated and nothing is lost. HOW WELL DOES YOUR VEHICLE STOP? Brakes wear gradually, and most of us never notice until we need them. The app gives you a way to find out where yours stand. Using satellite positioning together with the phone's motion sensors, it measures the distance your vehicle takes to come to a complete stop from 30 mph. You get the distance, the time it took, how hard the vehicle decelerated, and a record you can keep and compare against later — after new pads, after a long winter, or before a trip with the family aboard. Measurement always starts at the same 30 mph point, so a faster approach cannot improve the result. There is nothing to gain from going quicker. SAFETY FIRST, EVERY TIME This is a maintenance check, not a bit of fun on the road. Before every single run the app asks you to confirm, one point at a time, that you are on private land or a closed course with the landowner's permission, that the area ahead is clear, that nobody is behind you, that your phone is properly mounted and cannot move, that seatbelts are fastened and any load is secured, and that the vehicle is fit for it. The app also explains the correct braking technique for your vehicle, which differs depending on whether it has ABS. It is not intended for use on a public road, and it says so plainly before you begin. COMPARE NOTES WITH OTHER OWNERS See how your result sits alongside other owners of the same model, and what real customers are recording on standard brakes compared with LOF ROADspec, POWERspec and EXTREMEspec. Choose a display name or stay anonymous — your real name and email are never shown. HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT Common questions, fitting guidance and a direct line to our team, all from the account tab. We are a small company and we answer our own emails. WHAT YOU NEED An iPhone or iPad and a free lofclutches.com account. The braking measurement needs a GPS receiver, so it will not work on a Wi-Fi-only iPad.

Verdict
