The Mascal Triage app is presented as a training tool for healthcare professionals, firefighters and first responders in terms of triage and management of mass casualty incidents. The Mascal Triage app was developed by healthcare professionals and researchers in the field of medical emergency and mass casualty incidents management, with the main objective of providing a training tool for triage and management of mass casualty incidents, through two dimensions that run simultaneously: command and control and operational in the field. In terms of command and control, the Mascal Triage app allows on-time monitoring of triages carried out in the field and live monitoring of the event, including geolocation, thus allowing more effective management of the event. On the same premise, it allows the instructor to remotely monitor the exercise. In operational terms on the ground, the Mascal Triage app presents itself as a decision-making support tool, in the application of primary triage (START methodology), secondary triage (TRTS methodology), treatment area (ISS methodology, clinical note and treatment records), ending with hospital admission (with the respective triage). The Mascal Triage app allows field operators to use a digital tool that supports the victim's complete circuit, in all its phases and vectors of a mass casualty incident.

As someone who has lived with OCD for many years, I know the mental loops that can keep us trapped. Repetitive compulsions driven by the fear of not having done something right. Other manifestations include rumination, "what if" spirals, and impulses that feel impossible to resist. I've learned that the faster we acknowledge an unproductive thought and move on, the better—the less of our precious life we waste. That's the simple idea behind this app. THE CONCEPT Draw a checkmark. That's it. When you're stuck in an obsessive thought, lost in rumination, or fighting an impulse—draw a checkmark on your screen. This small act creates a moment of interruption that engages you on three levels: Something to feel: The physical motion of your finger across the screen makes the act tangible. You're not just thinking about moving on—you're doing something. Something to see: The checkmark appears, a visual confirmation that this moment has been acknowledged and completed. Something to hear: A sound reinforces the sense of closure. This combination of touch, sight, and sound creates a small ritual—a concrete way to say: "I see you, but I choose to move forward." THREE MODES FOR DIFFERENT CHALLENGES OCD Mode — For intrusive thoughts and compulsions. Acknowledge the thought without engaging with it. Choose to check it off. Move on. Overthinking Mode — For when your mind won't stop analyzing. Sometimes you don't need to solve the thought—you just need to let it go. Impulse Control Mode — For impulses that demand immediate action but could potentially cause harm (for example, in relationships). The checkmark creates a pause. That pause might be all you need to see things differently. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS The app counts every checkmark—daily and long-term. On difficult days, you can look back and see: "I've already moved past 50 situations since I started counting. Why not this one too?" Small victories add up. WHAT THIS APP IS NOT This is not a replacement for therapy. If you're struggling with OCD, chronic anxiety, or impulse control issues, please work with a mental health professional. CheckOff is meant to be one small tool in your toolkit—something simple you can reach for in difficult moments. FEATURES Gesture-based checkmark drawing Three specialized modes Daily and lifetime progress tracking 4 sound effects Light and dark mode Links to professional resources (IOCDF, evidence-based guides) Clean, distraction-free interface Works offline PRIVACY Your journey stays yours. All data is stored locally on your device. No accounts, no tracking, no cloud sync, no data collection. FOR YOU IF YOU DEAL WITH Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Intrusive thoughts Chronic rumination and thought loops Analysis paralysis Impulse control challenges Anxiety-related thought patterns
