Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: KanX at 4.8 against Evo Reading's 2.0. KanX also leads on review sentiment (90% vs 67%) and ratings volume (119 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Evo Reading sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and KanX sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.59 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
KanX holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KanX has 119 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Evo Reading's written reviews are positive against 90% of KanX's.
Evo Reading ships an update every 3 weeks, KanX every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
