PourCraft turns a roast and a dose into exact gram weights for the bloom and the pour. Then it walks you through the brew with a live timer. It does a calculator's math and reads like a coffee zine. HOW IT WORKS Choose your roast. Light, medium, or dark, each with its own ratio. Dial in the dose. Set the coffee from 10 g to 60 g with the stepper or the ruler. Or flip the Coffee | Water toggle and set the water from 200 g to 900 g. PourCraft works out the dose to a tenth of a gram. Read the pour, by weight. Total water, bloom water, the remaining spiral pour, and the water temperature for your roast, in °F or °C. Tap "Begin the brew" and the Guide takes over. THE RATIOS Light roast, 1:17. Bright, floral, tea-like. Origin flavors shine through. Medium roast, 1:16. Balanced sweetness, clean body. The specialty sweet spot. Dark roast, 1:15. Bold, rich, full-bodied. Chocolate and caramel forward. Bloom water is twice the dose. Water temperature follows the roast: 205° to 210°F for light, 200° to 205°F for medium, and 195° to 200°F for dark. THE METHOD Eight steps, in order, by the gram: heat the water, rinse the filter, add the grounds, bloom, wait, spiral pour, drawdown, and the first sip. Every weight and time on the page comes from your recipe. A live timer runs the 3:30 brew: 30 seconds of bloom, then the pour, then drawdown. Auto-advance opens the current step as the timer moves, and haptics mark each phase change. Both are optional. FIELD NOTES Eight short articles explain why each step matters, so you learn the method instead of memorizing it. 01 Grind matters more than beans. 02 Water is 98% of the cup. 03 Bloom is not optional. 04 Hotter for light, cooler for dark. 05 A ratio, not a recipe. 06 Pour slowly, in a spiral. 07 Fresh, but not too fresh. 08 Taste, then adjust, one variable at a time. SAVE AS MY MORNING One tap stores your roast, your starting point, and your amount. Tomorrow opens where today ended. MADE FOR THE COUNTER PourCraft is made for people who weigh their coffee, and own a kettle with a spout that looks slightly silly. The numbers are big enough to read from arm's length with a kettle in the other hand. It runs on iPhone and iPad, in light and dark appearance. Nothing leaves your device. No account, no subscription, no ads, and no network connection. The app keeps your preferences and nothing else.
