We now know that the root cause of Dumsor is revenue loss from illegal consumption, and we can fight back. Introducing the Operation Zero App, the powerful weapon in the fight for a brighter, more stable future without Dumsor. This mobile app equips ECG staff with the information and processes to tackle consumption abuses head-on. About 4 out of every 10 consumers of electricity in Ghana is intentionally or unintentionally engaged in some form of illegal consumption. These include illegal connection to ECG's distribution lines, faulty meters, burnt meters or tampered meters. These issues significantly affect ECG's revenue, which is vital for covering operational costs and making regular payments to upstream electricity suppliers, including independent power producers.
