Industrial-grade field data collection for electrical engineering studies. ArcWalk is a specialized tool for electricians and facility managers to perform structured facility walk-downs. It provides a standardized framework for collecting the technical data and photographic evidence required for certified Arc Flash, SCCR, and Coordination studies. CORE FUNCTIONALITY: • EQUIPMENT-SPECIFIC WIZARDS: Guided data entry for all industrial gear types including Switchgear, Panelboards, Transformers, Disconnects, and Motors. Every form is built to engineering standards, ensuring all necessary electrical parameters are captured. • TOPOLOGICAL HIERARCHY MAPPING: Define the electrical relationship between assets using integrated "Fed From" and "Installed In" selectors. Build a complete parent-child map of the facility's power distribution from the service entrance to the final load. • DIGITAL PANEL SCHEDULES: Instantly generate and review digital schedules for distribution gear. View all linked branch breakers and conductors in a unified list to verify connectivity and circuit identification in the field. • TECHNICAL PHOTO DOCUMENTATION: Specialized capture flow for high-resolution nameplate data and interior equipment wiring. Includes automated image processing and downscaling for efficient data transfer over cellular or mechanical-room Wi-Fi. • PROJECT BUDGETING & ESTIMATION: Real-time calculation of engineering service costs based on equipment count and study complexity. Generate instant estimates for Arc Flash Labeling (Category or Incident Energy), Breaker Coordination, and NEC Violation checks. • OFFLINE-FIRST SYNC ENGINE: Native background synchronization designed for industrial environments with limited connectivity. All data is saved locally to the device and automatically synced to the backend once a stable connection is restored. • ENCRYPTED PROJECT BUNDLES: Export comprehensive project data as a single, encrypted container optimized for direct ingestion by professional engineering modeling software. ArcWalk ensures that facility data is collected accurately, verified photographically, and formatted correctly for professional engineering analysis.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: ArcWalk at 5.0 against Fault Current Calculator's 3.0. ArcWalk also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). Fault Current Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 2) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fault Current Calculator sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. ArcWalk asks for nothing beyond the download.
ArcWalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fault Current Calculator has 27 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Fault Current Calculator ships an update every 4 months, ArcWalk every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
