Newrun is an AI health coach that reads the data already in Apple Health and tells you how today looks and what to do about it. No need to switch trackers. It reads what your Apple Watch, other workout apps and treadmill sessions already recorded. [Today's brief] β’ Compares sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, steps, workouts and VO2max against your last four weeks β’ Shows at a glance whether today needs more recovery or is a normal day β’ Gives concrete suggestions for training, sleep, activity and recovery β’ The app computes every number; the AI only quotes computed values [Chat with your coach] β’ Ask things like "Can I do a 5K tempo run today?" β’ Answers draw on today's data and your morning brief, and the conversation carries on through the day β’ If a plan is too much for today, you get the reason and an alternative β’ Read previous conversations on this device for 14 days; they are not sent as AI conversation history [Run coaching] β’ Real-time voice coaching tuned to your goal and heart rate β’ Zone 2 coaching that nudges intensity to your personal heart-rate range β’ Accurate GPS, Live Activity on the Lock Screen, share cards [Privacy and data] Health data is read-only and summarized on your device. It is never used for ads or marketing and never sold. Only if you allow AI data sharing, Newrun sends daily health summaries (sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, steps, active energy, exercise minutes, workouts, VO2max), your chat with the coach, and todayβs plan, run purpose, elapsed time, distance, heart rate, Zone 2 status, approximate location/weather context, recent coaching conversation, and recent run summaries to Google Gemini through Supabase Edge Functions. If you don't allow it, nothing is sent to the third-party AI and you get local guidance only. Newrun's brief and chat are general wellness guidance, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have pain or unusual symptoms, talk to a clinician. Sleep, HRV and resting heart rate appear when they are recorded to Apple Health, for example by an Apple Watch. The clearest difference is ads: Newrun at none against Tempo's shown. Tempo's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
