This app is for viewing, studying, analysing chess game databases and solving puzzles. It comes with some databases: - Elite database: chess games of human very high ranks, from 2400 Elo. All games are checked, and verified to eliminate errors and redundancies. Player names are checked, standardised too - Annotated games: almost all interesting games with annotations on the Internet. We believe it is the largest collection of annotated games so far - Puzzles with mates from 1 to 9: suitable for all players’ levels, for enjoying as well as for practising. Users can try to solve them and then ask the app to verify their solutions Users could analyse any game for computing information, best moves and for finding blunders. The total of all games and puzzles is huge. A typical human can’t watch and/or solve them all in their whole lives. On one hand, the app becomes the source of unlimited fun, keep every time they get new games to study and enjoy, and new puzzles to solve. On another hand, a huge number of games challenge users to use them efficiently and enjoyably. To help users deal with that huge number of games/puzzles, the app provides redundant ways, from auto-mark visited games, to bookmarking and adding notes to games. Users can search, filter games by many factors, and watch opening trees. It also provides a lot of statistics with many links/buttons to access them conveniently. Our app is very easy to use. Almost all functions are straightforward, users can use them without needing help. Functions are tested carefully for bugs and logical and convenient use. Features are redundant. Chess64 is a checkmate trainer. The puzzles never ask you for the best move, only for the forced one: every one ends in mate, and the whole difficulty is how deep the line runs and whether you can see all of it before you touch a piece. Each one is generated for this app and verified by a chess engine, so the mate is forced and runs to exactly the depth stated. A puzzle you have solved comes back at growing intervals, timed to reach you just before the pattern would have faded. You set how many new puzzles and how many reviews you want in a day. Beside it, a curated library of openings and the traps that spring from them. Every trap line is proved by a chess engine before it ships, and drilling one puts it in the same review queue. • Five bots to play against, each with a style of its own. Win enough of your recent games against one of the bots and the app tells you the next one up is a fair fight or not. Afterwards the review analyses the game: the tactics that were there, which of them you found, and the move that you missed. • Pass and play: two people, one device, and no engine in the middle. Free. Leave the board where it is, turn it between moves, or turn only the black pieces so each player reads their own the right way up. Play with a clock or without one, and start a piece up or a piece down. These games are not added to your record or your statistics. • A daily puzzle: one mate in 3, the same position for everyone, every day. • A timed challenge: solve as many as you can before the clock runs out. Three wrong moves retire a puzzle and the next one arrives. • Statistics that keep accuracy and solve rate apart instead of blurring them together, plus an activity calendar, results by depth, time-of-day performance, and the depths you are weakest at. Your progress backs up to your own private iCloud, comes back when you sign in on a new device, and syncs across your devices without passing through anything in between. Turn iCloud off, or use no iCloud account at all, and Chess64 works the same way it always does; your progress simply stays on the one device. Every puzzle ships inside the app and the bots think on your device, so once you are set up you can play with no connection at all.
