Small personal changes add up to a force that can change the world. EcoStrider is your carbon-reduction companion for green trips: it records every trip you make by low-carbon transport and turns those trips into carbon savings you can see. ■ Four green modes of transport Walking, cycling, electric scooter (moped) and electric car. Pick your mode and start recording with one tap; the app traces your route by GPS and shows duration, total distance and average speed in real time. ■ Uninterrupted recording, no need to remember to stop ・Auto-pause: timing pauses automatically when you stay still for a while and resumes when you move again. ・Auto-stop: the trip is saved automatically after a long stop or when you reach the end of a saved route, so forgetting to tap Stop won't leave an overly long record. ・Recording reminders: set reminders for fixed times so commutes and workouts don't go unrecorded. ■ Carbon savings on two baselines Every trip is compared both with a petrol car and with a petrol scooter, so you can read the result against the transport you actually replaced. ■ Redesigned statistics Switch between week, month and year with one tap; choose bar, line or cumulative line charts and swipe to compare with the previous or next period. Carbon saved, emissions, active days and total distance at a glance. ■ Great on phones and tablets Supports iPad and Android tablets, with a two-column layout on wide screens. ■ Record on your watch Apple Watch and Wear OS: pick a mode and start on the watch, see duration, distance and carbon saved, pause or switch modes. Watches with built-in GPS can record without your phone. Trips transfer to your phone automatically and are then handled like phone trips. You can also see recent trips, stats and sync status on the watch; Wear OS adds a tile with today's distance and carbon saved. Requires location permission on the watch. ■ Complete trip history All trips are kept in History, searchable and filterable by date or transport mode, so you can revisit any route and its data. ■ Your data, under your control ・Trip data is encrypted with AES-256 and stored in a database on your device. ・Optional biometric lock: after the app has been in the background for a while, Face ID or a fingerprint is required to return. ・Data is excluded from system cloud backups and device transfers. ・Optional cross-device sync (off by default): when turned on, data is end-to-end encrypted and stored in your own iCloud or Google Drive, so you can continue on a new phone or across devices. ■ Personalisation and languages Eight colour themes plus light and dark appearance; the interface is available in 27 languages, including Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. ■ About the numbers Carbon savings and other conversions in the app are estimates that vary with vehicle efficiency, electricity source, driving style and road conditions; recorded duration includes non-moving time such as waiting at traffic lights. The figures show trends and relative changes and should not be used as precise measurements or for official reporting. ■ Permissions The app needs location permission to record your route; while recording it uses a foreground service so the route keeps being recorded with the screen off. The app does not collect location in the background when you have not started a recording.
