Our History Petropolis first opened its doors in 1988 thanks to Dr. Paul Schifano and Hannelore Bugby. Dr. Schifano’s goal was to create the nation’s first all-inclusive pet center servicing every pet’s needs “all under one woof.” Over the years, we’ve evolved with the times and adopted the force-free philosophy that make us the business we are today.
