On August 2, 2027, a total solar eclipse will cross southern Spain, North Africa, Egypt and Arabia, and in Upper Egypt the sky will stay dark for more than six minutes, a totality no eclipse will match until 2114. The Eclipse App is your companion for the whole day: an interactive map of the path of totality, a rehearsal so you know what's coming, and a live countdown that guides you second by second, from first contact to the moment your eclipse glasses come off. ▶ YOUR ECLIPSE See exactly what the eclipse looks like from your location: whether you'll see totality, how long it lasts, how much of the Sun is covered, and when every phase begins and ends, down to the second. Outside the path? You'll see your partial eclipse times too. Preview your sky in advance, and turn on Day-of Alerts so nothing sneaks up on you. ▶ THE MAP Explore the path of totality from the Strait of Gibraltar across Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, and on over Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Tap any spot on the eclipse map to see its timing, how long totality lasts there, and how far it sits from the path. Comparing two towns? The map makes the tradeoffs easy to see, and Travel mode shows how long the drive into the path takes from cities nearby. ▶ HEAT, DUST AND CLOUDS In 2027 the Sun stands high over much of the path, nearly overhead in Egypt and Arabia, and in August the heat and the desert dust matter as much as the clouds. Historical maps of heat, dust haze and cloud cover show what each spot has typically been like at eclipse hour, so you can plan for shade, water and the clearest sky. ▶ REHEARSAL Practice eclipse day before it arrives, at your own pace. Walk through every phase from first contact to last, learn when glasses go on and come off, and try the camera and recorder ahead of time, so the real day feels familiar instead of frantic. ▶ LIVE COUNTDOWN When the day comes, the eclipse countdown guides you in real time: what's happening, what to watch for, and exactly when it's safe to take your glasses off. An optional spoken audio guide keeps you hands-free. The totality countdown also stays live on your Lock Screen, so a glance is all it takes. ▶ SNAP AND RECORD Take a photo without leaving the countdown. Scene mode shows the strange light around you, and Sun mode helps you aim and expose for the Sun itself. Or tap Record, put your phone down, and keep the sound of totality: the hush, the gasps, the cheers. ▶ RELIVE Afterward, press play. Your photos and recordings play back on the eclipse's own timeline, just as they happened. It's the closest thing to standing back under the Moon's shadow. Sign in to back up your spots and Relives to your account. ▶ GOOD TO KNOW - Free to use, no account needed and no subscriptions. Chaser, the clear-sky forecasting upgrade, is a single one-time purchase per eclipse. - Available in ten languages: English, Spanish, Catalan, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Icelandic, and Japanese. - Useful across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and beyond: even far from totality, you can see how much of the Sun will be covered where you are. A note on safety: outside of totality, only look at the Sun through certified eclipse glasses or solar filters. The app tells you when, and proper glasses do the protecting. A total solar eclipse is brief, and it doesn't wait. We built this app so you can spend those minutes looking up. theeclipse.app/privacy theeclipse.app/terms

FlightsTaken is a logbook for everywhere you have flown. Enter a flight number and a date. We find the flight, fill in the route, the aircraft, the tail number and the times, and work out the distance ourselves from the airports — you never type a mileage figure, which is what keeps the leaderboards honest. WHAT YOU GET • A logbook of every flight, with the aircraft you were on • Points for flying, and more for going somewhere new • Seven levels, from Passenger to Million Miler • 29 badges for the things a score cannot describe • A world map of every route you have flown • A passport of the countries, airports, airlines and aircraft you have collected HONEST ABOUT WHAT WE KNOW When we can confirm a flight operated on the day you flew it, it is marked Verified. When we cannot, it still scores and still counts — we just say so. If a flight number flew more than one route that day, we show you the options instead of guessing. Your profile and every flight can be public or private, your choice. Private flights still count toward your score and badges. Free to use.
