Transitions FOCUS (t-FOCUS) is novel smartphone app that is currently being evaluated in a research trial. t-FOCUS is meant to be used by patients who are being discharged from a psychiatric hospitalization from Butler Hospital in Rhode Island. It contains 6 assessment and treatment modules, and includes safety planning for people who may be experiencing suicidal ideation/clinical crisis. The app references and reminds people to check the safety plan they created with Butler Hospital staff prior to their transition out of inpatient care and sends prompts to use the Butler Hospital call center line, the 988 suicide crisis line, or to go to the nearest emergency room, in Rhode Island. The app is made available only through participation in the Bulter Hospital trial in the context of a study that is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

G-FOCUS is an evidence-based smartphone app designed for people with serious mental illness receiving outpatient care in West Africa. The G-FOCUS app is made available through enrollment in a study conducted by the University of Washington. It contains five treatment and assessment modules focusing on coping with voices, sleep, mood, medication use, and social functioning.
