One book, start to finish. Proverbs is a free iPhone app for memorizing all thirty-one chapters of the book of Proverbs in the New American Standard Bible, NASB 1995 — narrated end to end, so you can work on it with your hands full and your eyes closed. I built it for my own family. For years I prayed the prayer in James 1:5, asking God for wisdom, because His word says He gives it generously. The answer I got was simple: you want wisdom — memorize Proverbs. I put it in that book for you. When I went looking for a tool, every app I found was an empty container you pour your own verses into. I wanted the opposite. BUILT AROUND THE BOOK'S OWN STRUCTURE • 165 passages, not arbitrary chunks. The book is divided along the NASB's own section headings, so you learn it in the units it was edited into. • Narrated end to end. Every passage read aloud, with background playback, lock-screen controls and a repeat mode — for the car, the gym, the walk. The words highlight as they are read. • Four ways through a passage. Read it, listen to it, say it out loud, then fill in the blanks from memory. • A chapter a day, matched to the date. Proverbs has thirty-one chapters and the month has thirty-one days. On the 14th you drill chapter 14 — the oldest reading plan there is — and the app keeps your streak on it. • It grades itself. The app watches how much you revealed, how many attempts you took and how closely you recited, then gives you a letter grade and tells you exactly what cost you. • Say it out loud and be heard. Recite a passage and the app checks your recall. Your voice is transcribed on your iPhone and never sent anywhere. • Room to write. Keep dated notes on any passage as you work through it. WHAT IT ISN'T • No price, no subscription, no in-app purchases • No advertising • No account to create, no sign-in • No analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind • No internet connection required — it works entirely offline There is no verse library here, no way to add other passages, and no plan to expand to other books. It does one thing. 31 chapters. 915 verses. 165 passages.
