SIMTA is a timer you read at a glance. Set a time and the whole screen fills with color. As the seconds run out the color drains away, so you can tell how much is left from across the room without reading a number. SIMPLE BY DESIGN • Spin the dial, press start. That is the whole setup. • No accounts and no subscriptions. • Red and Teal are free. SIMTA Pro adds thirteen more colors, and My Colors lets you pick any color yourself. SIMTA PRO — ONE PURCHASE, NOT A SUBSCRIPTION • Thirteen more colors, plus My Colors for picking your own, with the home screen icon to match. • Lock the apps that distract you while a timer runs. • Every time you have run, kept in Recent. • No ads. MADE TO BE GLANCED AT • Horizon Lock keeps the color level with the room as you tip the phone or prop it in a stand. • The controls fade away once the timer is running, so nothing sits on top of the color. • Hide the digits entirely if you only want the color. • Keep the screen awake while a timer runs. • The countdown carries on to the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island, with pause, resume and stop right there. RELIABLE • The countdown stays accurate after you switch apps or lock the phone. • A running timer survives the app being closed. • The alarm is audible even with the silent switch on. Good for cooking, focus sprints, workouts, study blocks, and anything where you would rather feel time pass than watch a number. Focus Hotel
Read full descriptionHide full description
Focus Hotel gives your focus somewhere to go. Start a focus session and distracting apps are locked away until it ends. Complete it to earn Focusines, the currency you can spend on furniture, new outfits and, eventually, entirely new rooms. Most productivity apps ask you to be disciplined. This one gives you something to show for it. HOW IT WORKS • Choose how long you want to focus, then start. • Distracting apps stay blocked for the entire session. • Finish and earn the full reward. Cancel and earn nothing. No lecture, no broken streak, no guilt. • Spend what you earned in the store, then place every piece yourself, tile by tile. • Keep focusing and the hotel opens up: a living room, a kitchen and a bedroom of your own. YOU'RE NOT FOCUSING ALONE Other people's rooms are real places you can visit. See who is focusing right now, what they're working on and how far into their session they are. Say hello. Start your own session from their room and sit together while you both work. It's the quiet company of a library, on your phone. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • No sign-up. No account, email or password. Open the app and you're in. • Works offline. Focusing, earning and decorating never require a connection. • Nothing is rented. Every piece you buy stays yours. • A world, not a dashboard. Cozy pixel art you actually want to look at. SEE YOUR PROGRESS Track minutes focused, sessions completed and your completion rate: the number that shows whether you're getting better at staying focused. ABOUT APP BLOCKING Deep Focus uses Apple's Screen Time controls to keep selected apps blocked while a session is running. You grant permission once, you can say no, and focus sessions still work without blocking. Focus Hotel is free. Focusines are earned by focusing. You can also buy them if you'd rather furnish your hotel faster. Build a room worth coming back to. Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Focus Hotel at none against SIMTA's shown. SIMTA's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
