SkyWatch is a live flight radar for iPhone and Apple Watch. See every aircraft in the sky around you, find out what's flying overhead, and keep a record of every flight you take. LIVE RADAR • Every aircraft around you, with its callsign, altitude, speed and heading • Tilt into 3D over real terrain, each aircraft at its true height • Filter by airliners, cargo, military, helicopters and more • Rich flight data when an aircraft broadcasts it: selected altitude, autopilot modes, airspeeds, Mach, wind and outside temperature • See when an aircraft will pass closest to you THE SKYWATCH CAMERA • Point your iPhone at the sky and SkyWatch names the aircraft you're looking at, by day or at night MY PASSPORT • Keep every flight you take, collect a stamp for every country and replay your trips over the globe • Add a flight from its boarding pass: scan it, choose a screenshot or share it from Wallet • Share a flight as an 11-second film for Reels and TikTok, a card or a see-through sticker WATCHLIST & ALERTS • Follow aircraft by registration, flight number or transponder code • Nearby Alerts: get notified when military aircraft, helicopters, heavies or any type you pick are about to pass close by, including aircraft in an emergency • Follow an aircraft on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island • Widgets for your next flight and the traffic closest to you FOR SPOTTERS AND PILOTS • Spotter Logbook: collect every airframe you see • Pilot Log: record your own flights with Apple Watch and replay them on iPhone APPLE WATCH (OPTIONAL) • The radar on your wrist, zoomed with the Digital Crown • Record flights and spot aircraft from your wrist; everything syncs with your iPhone PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads, no tracking • Your Passport, logs and notes are encrypted on your iPhone and open only with Face ID or your passcode • Optional iCloud backup, encrypted before it leaves your iPhone. Apple can't read it, and neither can we. SKYWATCH LIVE Live traffic, aircraft names in the SkyWatch camera, Watchlist checks, aircraft search, Nearby Alerts, the Nearby Traffic widget and following on the Lock Screen need SkyWatch Live, a monthly auto-renewing subscription for iPhone and Apple Watch. New subscribers can start with a free 1-week trial, which includes up to 3 hours of live traffic a day on iPhone. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm your purchase or when the free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it anytime in your Apple Account settings. Live positions can be delayed or incomplete. SkyWatch is for interest and enjoyment, never for navigation, flight planning or air traffic control. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: SkyWatch at weekly against Pathmap's every 3 months. Pathmap's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
