Most ghost hunting apps make their readings up. You already know the ones. The needle that jumps on cue. The thermometer on a phone that has never had a temperature sensor. The figure that appears because the app decided it was time for a figure. Ghost Kit does none of that, and it is more unsettling for it. Every number on screen comes off a real sensor in your hand. When the field climbs in an empty hallway, it climbed. When a figure locks onto something in the dark, the camera genuinely found a shape there. Nothing here is invented. Which means when something does happen, you have to sit with it. FIVE INSTRUMENTS THAT ACTUALLY MEASURE PROXIMITY watches four sensors at once and only speaks when two of them move together, in the same moment, for no reason either of them can explain. An outlet cannot trigger it. Neither can you. Most nights it says nothing at all, which is exactly why the nights it does say something are worth paying attention to. SENSORS is your EMF meter, barometer and vibration reader. Set a baseline in a quiet room and every reading afterwards is a measured change from the way you found the place. Peak hold keeps the spike on the dial after it has gone, so you do not lose it while your head is turned. VOICES is a spirit box tuned to 758 real, documented, haunted locations. Point it at a sanatorium and the words that surface come from that building's own rooms, its own people, its own reported activity. A lighthouse speaks differently from an asylum. Underneath the words runs a bed of speech fragments that are not words at all, so the app can never be accused of having said anything. Whatever you hear in it, you heard. EVIDENCE records EVP audio and SLS video with every instrument logged alongside on one timeline. A voice at twelve seconds, checked against what the room's field and air were doing at twelve seconds. Sudden level changes are flagged automatically and any flag replays that moment alone, at half speed, over and over, until you are sure. ARCHIVE is 758 case files across all fifty states, searchable, readable offline, tied straight into the spirit box. IT TELLS YOU WHEN IT IS PROBABLY NOTHING This is the part no other app in this category will do. Ghost Kit flags sounds that arrive with a movement of the phone and calls them what they almost certainly are: you. It tells you when a high EMF reading is your own laptop. It tells you when the air pressure has been falling all evening because weather is coming through. There is a glossary that explains why orbs are dust and why shadow figures live at the edge of your vision. An app willing to say that has earned the right to be believed when it says a reading is genuine. WEAR IT ON YOUR WRIST With an Apple Watch, Ghost Kit measures the one thing a phone never can: you. Your own pulse, recorded beside the audio, so you can see the moment your heart went before you consciously noticed anything. The watch is also the remote. Start a recording, stop it, and mark your own noises without ever touching the phone, so it can lie still in the dark exactly where you put it. When something registers, your wrist taps. BUILT WITH SOME CARE It never gives you a direction or a distance, because there is nothing to chase and chasing things in the dark is how people get hurt. It hides itself when it notices you moving. It never sends a notification and never asks for your attention. It does absolutely nothing until you open it. Everything you record stays on your phone. No account. No cloud. No analytics. No ads. No subscription. Not now, not later. Ghost Kit is an entertainment app. It does not detect, measure or communicate with anything supernatural, and it says so before you ever use it. What it does is give you real instruments, tell you the truth about what they are reading, and then get out of your way. From Beyond Haunted. beyondhaunted.com
