About

SGA Eclipse

This app offers authentic analog amplifier sounds for digital audio workstations. It simulates six different analog circuits, including vacuum tubes and transistors, to provide a range of saturation and distortion effects. It can be used as a standalone effect or in conjunction with other plugins to create full amp simulations.

Highlights
  • Authentic analog sound simulation
  • Six distinct analog circuits
  • Vacuum tube and transistor emulation
  • Variable bias and feedback controls
  • Automatic 4x oversampling
  • AUv3 effect plugin

Eclipse brings the authentic sound of six analog push-pull circuits to your DAW. Each circuit derives its unique sonic character from a different active element: - 6L6 beam tetrode – Power tube commonly found in US audio power amplifiers in class AB push-pull configuration. - EL34 pentode – Power tube found, operating in class AB push-pull configuration, in audio power amplifiers and many European guitar amplifiers. - EL84 pentode – Power tube found in many European audio equipment, gainer than the usual pentode, operated in push-pull class AB configuration for maximum power output. - pair of complementary N- and P- MOS transistors found in CD4007 - 2N5457 and BF244B JFET transistors in mu-amplifier/SRPP/totem pole amplifier configuration found in some boutique guitar gear, including Shattered Glass Audio. To achieve the most authentic analog sound, each circuit is simulated in real time using Shattered Glass Audio’s state-of-the-art circuit simulator. Eclipse can be used to deliver anything from subtle saturation to ripping distortion, as well as in a tandem with a preamp simulation plug-in, such as our own Phoenix 2, and a speaker cabinet emulation plug-in to create a full amp. Key features: - Authentic analog sound through real-time high-performance circuit simulation. - Three vacuum tube push-pull configurations (fronted by a long-tailed phase splitter using 12AX7 triodes) featuring 6L6, EL34, and EL84 power tubes. - A complementary N- and P- MOS transistors in push-pull configuration. - Two mu-amplifiers featuring JFET transistors 2N5457 and BF244B. - Variable bias and feedback for each circuit for different saturation “flavors”. - AGC and parallel processing. - Automatic 4x oversampling. Eclipse is primarily an AUv3 effect. To use Eclipse as a plug-in, you will need an AUv3 compatible host such as Garageband, AUM, etc. Eclipse application is there to provide a user manual and a chance to use Eclipse with the microphone input. You can try Eclipse on a macOS or Windows based, machine by downloading the demo version of the plug-in (VST3, AUv2, AAX) from our website https://www.shatteredglassaudio.com and running it in a DAW of your choice. Sonically speaking there are no differences between the iOS and macOS/Windows versions of Eclipse.

MicroTape is for musicians, sound designers, journalists, podcasters, and other users who record audio. Recording, playback, library controls, input controls, and original-file sharing do not require a subscription. Some edit, loop, effect, and export features require a MicroTape Premium subscription. RECORD AUDIO • Select AAC, Apple Lossless, or WAV format. • Select a sample rate of 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz. • Record mono or stereo audio. • Set the input gain before you record. • Level meters show the input and playback levels. • MicroTape adds the date and time to each new tape. EDIT AND PLAY TAPES • Use the waveform to select a position or audio range. • Trim the start and end of a tape. • Loop a complete tape or a selected range. • Add a crossfade to the loop point. • Use varispeed to play audio in reverse, at low speed, or at double speed. • Add a fade-in or fade-out. • Normalize the audio and set the output gain. • Adjust the low, middle, and high frequencies with the equalizer. • Add tape drive, wow, and flutter effects. ORGANIZE YOUR TAPES • Rename each tape in the tape library. • Save a location with a tape when you enable this option. • MicroTape can identify sounds and speech topics on your device. • Use sound tags to filter the tape library. • Each rendered tape keeps a link to its source tape. EXPORT AUDIO • Share the original audio file without changes. • Export edits and tape effects as a new audio file. • Select AAC for a small file. • Select WAV for a full-quality file. • Select the sample rate and channel format for each export.
