Food and Money in one App. MealsNMoney records what you eat and what you spend on groceries, and turns a weekly dollar amount into a shopping list that fits it. Most food apps stop at calories. This one keeps the receipt in the picture. FOUR TABS: 1. Home - your week at a glance. Food logged, money spent, protein, fiber, carbs and sugar, for the week you pick. A partial week says so. 2. Track - what you ate, day by day, for the last 7 days across breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Add a food four ways: search the grocery catalog, search the USDA nutrition reference by weight in grams, photograph the plate, or type it in. Log activity and calories burned alongside it. Every entry is tappable to correct. 3. Goals - your daily calorie target and your weekly food budget, side by side. You type your own numbers. The app suggests none. 4. Spending - what you actually paid, by receipt photo or by hand, split into manual entries and scanned receipts. THE GROCERY LIST PLANNER: Set a weekly budget and the app builds a grocery list from a built-in catalog of US grocery staples, sorted by aisle: protein, produce, grains, dairy, canned, pantry, frozen. Prices are shown as ranges, not exact figures, because store, ZIP code and week all move them, and the list is built to fit at the top of the range. If you have set a daily calorie target, the plan treats it as a ceiling and stops buying at it. If you have set a protein target, it spends spare budget toward that number. Set neither and it optimizes food per dollar. Rename or remove sections, edit or drop lines, add cards of your own. The list shows a total range and total calories, and says when the budget does not cover the week. RECEIPT SCANNING: Photograph a grocery receipt and the app reads the total into a form you check before it is saved. Extract and Save reads the individual lines into a virtual pantry, split into food and non-food, so a food budget does not count the washing powder. Anything it cannot classify is flagged Check rather than guessed. ALLERGY FILTERING: Add your allergies from the US Big 9 - milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanut, wheat, soy, sesame - or type your own, and the grocery planner screens them out with a fixed rule check that no AI is involved in. Allergies are treated as health data and stored only after you give explicit permission, which you can withdraw at any time. Diet preferences - vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free - are a separate, softer filter. ALSO INSIDE: Food pantries: free grocery referrals near your ZIP code, plus national services. Scanned Receipts Itemized: every extracted trip, food and non-food. PLANS: Every plan includes every feature. What a paid plan buys is more receipt scanning and more itemized extraction. Bronze, free: 3 items per card (Grocery List generated by clicking Plan my groceries this week), 1 card of your own, 2 receipt scans a day, 1 itemized extraction every 30 days. Silver: 6 items per card, 3 cards, 10 scans a day, 2 extractions a day. Gold: 6 items per card, 3 cards, 20 scans a day, 10 extractions a day. Note: An item added by the user to a card is not checked against the Allergy filter. Silver and Gold are auto-renewing monthly subscriptions billed to your Apple Account at the price shown in the app, renewing each period until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings, under your Apple Account, then Subscriptions. WHAT THE APP DOES NOT DO: It does not tell you what to eat. It describes and calculates; the rest is yours. No medical condition settings, no diagnoses, no health claims. It does not treat being under a target or under budget as a win. Where a nutrition figure is unknown it says unknown, never zero. Anything estimated from a photograph is editable before it is saved. MealsNMoney is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, and is not a substitute for professional advice.
