EL Tracker is an app by CTA riders, for CTA riders. We are the only completely free Chicago transit app that offers: - Customizable widgets displaying departures, with SmartWalk delay - Siri support and low-vision accessibility - Multiple languages (including Spanish and Polish) - Tailored alerts with push notifications We are Chicagoans, who were irritated by the lack of a simple Chicago transit app. One night, we said, "Why can't I have a widget that shows me when the train is coming?" And from there, EL Tracker was born. We strive to create technology that has a positive impact on the lives of everyday Chicagoans. We also want to make traveling around the city as accessible as possible, which is why we provide low-vision support, ADA accessibility notations, elevator outage push notifications, and multiple languages. EL Tracker is not an official CTA app, nor are we endorsed by the CTA.

Chicago crime alerts that show you the block — and tell you the truth about timing. Chicrime turns the city's public crime records into something you can actually use: an alert with a Street View photo of where it happened, a map you can read at a glance, and an honest label on every incident telling you how old it is. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT A photo of the block. Alerts arrive with a Street View image, so you recognise the spot instantly instead of decoding a block number. Honest timing, always. Chicago's main police feed publishes on a delay of several days. Most apps quietly hide that. Chicrime labels every incident with its real age and never dresses up a week-old police record as breaking news. Faster sources where they genuinely exist. Serious incidents appear in the city's violence-reduction dataset within hours, and are linked automatically to the full police record once CPD publishes it. No unverified chatter. Everything in Chicrime is an official record from the Chicago Police Department or the Cook County Medical Examiner. Nothing is crowd-sourced, and nothing is guessed at. Free, and no account. No sign-up, no email, no profile. Supported by ads rather than a subscription — and never an ad beside an individual violent incident. HOW IT WORKS Set your home address, pick a radius, and choose which crime types matter to you. Chicrime notifies you when the city publishes a new record nearby. • Live map — filter by crime type, jump to any address, or switch to a heat map • Today — only records the city published today • Neighborhood trends — weekly and monthly direction, improving or worsening • Follow a case — get notified when CPD amends its record • Quiet hours — nothing wakes you up • Street View — tap any incident to see the block it happened on ABOUT THE DATA Chicrime is a read-only viewer of public records from the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Medical Examiner. It has no way to submit or report anything: every incident comes from those datasets. Locations are anonymised to the block by those offices, never to a specific address. Records are preliminary and may be reclassified or withdrawn. Chicrime is not affiliated with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Police Department, or Cook County. This site provides applications using data that has been modified for use from its original source, www.cityofchicago.org, the official website of the City of Chicago.
