About

ResetMate

Features

ResetMate is a chess puzzle with a twist: the game starts where a normal one ends. All 32 pieces begin scattered at random across the board — white and black mixed together, nothing where it belongs. Your job is to put every piece back on its correct starting square in as few moves as possible. There's no checkmate, no capturing, and no chess rules to learn first, which makes it a painless way to finally memorize where everything goes. Tap a piece to pick it up, tap any square to send it there. Pieces aren't limited to chess moves — a rook can go anywhere. Land on an occupied square and the two simply trade places. FIVE WAYS TO PLAY • Solo — just you and the board • CPU Co-op — you and the computer take turns fixing the same board • CPU Competition — race the computer to finish your own 16 pieces • 2-Player Co-op — two people on one device, working together • 2-Player Competition — White vs Black, first side fully home wins AN OPPONENT THAT LEARNS The CPU starts out clueless, shoving pieces around at random. As the game goes on it catches on — first landing pieces in roughly the right area, then dropping them on the exact square. It never becomes perfect. ALSO INSIDE • A built-in reference diagram of the correct setup • Two hints and two undos per game • Local leaderboards kept separately for every mode • Custom player names in two-player games • No accounts, no ads, no internet connection required Everything stays on your device.
