The Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve App is a public safety tool and a guide for recreational use in the reserve. The primary goal is to provide safety information for explorers of all abilities. Secondarily, the app is an interpretation tool that provides information about the biodiversity of the site. The App provides a map to help guide hikers along the trails. Mile markers on the map will help to gauge distances from trail heads. The Nature trail corresponds with markers along the Homestead trail that highlight features and particular species you will encounter. The Field Guide provides a pictorial journey of the Reserve’s common species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, bugs, and, of course, wildflowers. Short descriptions offer interesting facts about what you are seeing or what is seeing you. You can help us sustain the Reserve by being eyes and ears on the ground to help our small staff to ‘keep a finger on the pulse’ by updating reserve staff on hazards, happenings, and interesting discoveries, and includes the ability for photo uploads.
