GPX Tracker
Read full descriptionHide full description
GPX Tracker is a free, offline-first app for adventure riding. Bring your GPX tracks, draw your next route or record your ride. Keep them in one place and follow them on the map. Save maps along the sections you plan to ride, without downloading the whole country. Your route and saved maps stay available when the signal drops. Built by a rider, for riders. No account. No cloud library. No ads. IMPORT AND MANAGE YOUR TRACKS • Import one or several GPX files from Files, or open them from another app. • Preview routes, spot duplicates and organize your library with names and emojis. • Recognise supported route sources automatically, with details you can edit. • Replace a track’s GPX file when you have a newer version, keeping its name and source details. CREATE YOUR OWN • Draw routes along mapped roads and paths, or connect points directly. • Save drawn routes and edit them later. • Record your rides with distance, duration and pause/resume. • Keep recording with the screen locked, with a Live Activity showing your ride status. Routed drawing uses walking and cycling paths. Always check that motorcycling is allowed. FOLLOW THE TRAIL • Follow your position with heading-up navigation. • Choose standard, satellite or topographic maps. • See waypoints for fuel, food, camping, water, hazards and more. • Check the weather along your route before you leave. • Lock the map in the rain to prevent accidental touches. • Keep the screen awake while you navigate. • Manage offline maps without deleting your tracks. Your tracks and recordings are stored on your device. Online maps, weather and routed drawing use external services. Download GPX files from your route provider’s website, then import them into the app. Built-in provider downloads and automatic route-update checks are no longer available. The app is free. An optional “buy me a coffee” tip unlocks nothing. Ride safe.

Verdict
Trail Navigator and GPX Tracker are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Trail Navigator sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and GPX Tracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Trail Navigator ships an update every 10 days, GPX Tracker weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
