In its upcoming second edition, the summit will bring together thousands of participants – live and online – over two days for engaging debates, discussions, and entertainment. The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, fireside chats, activations, performances, podcasts and other activities – all centered around areas of human interest and value. Guests will have the opportunity to delve into topics as far-reaching as algorithmic homogenization and identity loss, to AI’s impact on the creative industries, and misinformation and the wellbeing opportunity. Attendees will include entrepreneurs, decision makers, private sector leaders, government representatives, policy makers, researchers, youth and a wider general public. In 2024, a one-day new event – the Global Digital Wellbeing Assembly – will precede the summit, and bring together diverse experts from across the globe to discuss the guiding objectives and roadmap for a new digital wellbeing society, as well as an associated annual conference on digital wellbeing.

About

Spotlight

We built Spotlight after one of our co-founders needed $700, fast, to fly home. She didn't want to ask her parents. A friend connected her to a babysitting gig. Three weeks later, she had her flight, and she got to spend her dad's birthday with him. That's when it clicked: being a student means living spontaneously. Someone texts you "let's go to the Dominican in two weeks," and you say no, not because you don't want to go, but because you don't have the means, or a fast, safe way to get them. The gig economy already exists. It's just not safe. A stranger on Facebook Marketplace offering to pay you to mow their lawn, is that a real job, or something worse? Families looking for a babysitter or a helping hand face the same fear in reverse: is this student who they say they are? Spotlight fixes that. We connect verified postsecondary students with families and professionals who need real help, tutoring, babysitting, moving, tech support, music and language lessons, arts and crafts, and more. Every student verifies with their school email. Every hirer verifies with government ID. No cold DMs. No sketchy Marketplace energy. Just real trust. For students:
Flexible gigs on your own schedule, using skills you already have, whenever you need them, not just when shifts happen to be open. For families & professionals:
Reliable, verified help without the guesswork. Know exactly who's showing up before they do. We're not just building an app. We're building a community, real events, real people, real trust, because Gen Z doesn't just want a download, we want to feel like we belong to something. Earn Your Yes.
This isn't about being rich. It's about the coffee you didn't buy, the trip you said no to, the thing you wanted but didn't ask for. Spotlight is here so you can say yes.
