Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Quick Markdown Viewer at 5.0 against Raycast's 4.5. Quick Markdown Viewer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Raycast's advantage is ratings volume (250 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Quick Markdown Viewer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Raycast has 250 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Raycast's written reviews are positive against 50% of Quick Markdown Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Raycast ships an update every 11 days, Quick Markdown Viewer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
