Rune Legacy is not your typical matching game... it is so much more. Tap on the board to place runes. Runes must match the color and/or symbol next to it. Placing runes will turn the tile background yellow. Once all tiles are yellow, the board is complete. Discard runes you don't want to place, but discarding too many in a row will cause you to lose the game. Sounds simple? The difficulty increases with each board, adding new rune symbols or colors. Features include: - 25 quests with 15 levels each. Each quest increases new runes (symbols and/or colors). - 3 Side quests (easy, medium, and hard) with varying difficulties and each has 20 levels (with more to come). - Test your abilities with Survival Mode. Continue to clear boards... as you do, more colors and runes are added. - Leaderboards and Achievements. Get the Power Pack to greatly increase your strategy. With the Power Pack, you can: - See the next 3 runes (instead of just one). - Earn XP twice as fast. - Remove Ads. - Extra discard (4 discards instead of 3). Email: brad@walltechllc.com

You have 30 seconds of working time and an inbox that will not clear itself. Tap matching items in a row. The faster you chain them, the more points you get. Newsletters, spam, social media, calendar invites and FYI mails pile up. You are the one who deals with them. SPECIAL TILES Some tiles wipe one color from the board. Others stop the clock for one second. Use them at the right moment. FOUR THEMES Standard, Colorblind, Cyberpunk and Fantasy. Each theme has its own look and its own mail subjects. Cyberpunk and Fantasy also bring their own music. Switch in Settings. TILE LABELS Show text, icons or nothing at all on the tiles, whichever reads best for you. RANKS Your score earns a rank, from Mailroom Intern up to Legend of the Filing Cabinet. The result card can be shared as an image. GAME CENTER Compare your score on the leaderboard and collect achievements, including Inbox Zero. SETTINGS Music volume, haptics in three levels, tile labels and language. Slide the music volume to zero and the music is off. No ads. No account needed beyond Game Center. A game by Andy Ebels, kirchendice.de

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Inbox Dash at none against Rune Legacy's 8. Inbox Dash also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 2 months). Rune Legacy's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Rune Legacy against 5.0 for Inbox Dash. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rune Legacy has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Rune Legacy ships an update every 2 months, Inbox Dash daily. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
