When we first started speaking, how many rules of English grammar did we know? Five? Maybe fifty? Of course not a single one — we simply repeated the words and phrases we heard from those around us. So why do we focus so much on grammar when learning a new language? If we were able to start speaking our native language without even knowing what verb tenses were, there must be a way to bypass all the tedious grammar routines when learning new languages. We thought deeply about the mechanics of this process and created a language-learning app without a single grammar rule inside, where the entire learning process is controlled by just one button. About

PolishPro

Features

Most people learning Polish in Poland have a deadline. Citizenship, EU long-term residence, a job that asks for a B1 or B2 certificate. PolishPro is built around that exam, and around the Polish you need every day. PRACTICE TESTS IN THE REAL FORMAT Full practice tests laid out like the state certificate exam (egzamin certyfikatowy): listening, reading, grammar, writing and speaking. One timer runs for the whole test and you choose the order of the parts. Recordings play twice, the same as on exam day. Leave in the middle and the timer stops. Your answers are saved. WRITING AND SPEAKING, SCORED Write the letter and the essay, record your spoken answers, and get a score for each exam criterion with your mistakes marked. In the speaking role-play your partner, a receptionist or a landlord, talks back to you out loud. The scoring runs on your iPhone. What you write and say stays on it. TOPICS Short lessons on grammar and everyday life, one card at a time: an explanation, a table of forms, new words, and exercises that check your answers right away. Cases, aspect, the conditional, numerals, the vocative. Work, money, health, moving house, getting a driving licence. YOUR OWN VOCABULARY Save words from any topic, or add your own one at a time. You can also paste a whole list from your notes. Then practise them six ways: flashcards, learn, write, spell, match, and a gender and forms drill. Spell mixes look-alike letters like ó and o, ż and z, so you notice the difference. Each word comes back for review just before you would forget it. A FEW MINUTES A DAY Pick a daily goal of 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes. Keep a streak, see every study day in the calendar, and get a reminder at a time you choose. ALSO • No account, no sign-up • Most of the app works offline. The scoring model is a one-time 2.9 GB download over Wi-Fi • App language: English, Polish, Ukrainian or Russian • Light and dark mode PolishPro is an independent app. It is not affiliated with the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language.
