The Alaska Fish Map App, powered by the Indigenous Sentinels Network (ISN), is designed primarily for community observers to record nominations of anadromous fish to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Anadromous Waters Catalog & Atlas (AWC) in a reliable and streamlined manner. The Alaska Fish Map app is part of a collaboration between the Alaska Conservation Foundation, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and the Aleut Community of St. Paul Island Tribal Government. Fish habitat protection is mandated by the Alaska Constitution and Title 16 of Alaska Statutes. However, protections under the law are only triggered when a segment of a water body is cataloged in the Anadromous Waters Catalog. It is estimated that only a fraction of essential fish habitat (for rearing, migration, and spawning) are currently cataloged and protected. Until these habitats are inventoried, they will not be protected under Alaska State law. To be protected, water bodies must be documented as supporting some life function of anadromous fish species (salmon, trout, char, whitefish, sturgeon, etc.). This project helps to “crowdsource” the immense efforts needed to catalog the vast rivers, lakes, and streams throughout the state. In addition, the Fish Map App has the capacity to document culvert blockages and other impediments to fish passages, which can allow for the ability to report these issues to the necessary entities. The bulk of this project is directed towards documenting new water bodies; however, there is adequate potential built into the app technology to edit and add to existing stream documentations within the AWC (e.g., adding new species within a documented stream, extending species distribution, updating stream channels, etc.). Anadromous fish must be seen or collected and identified by a qualified observer. Data documenting anadromous fish species can be logged in the field regardless of internet access through the Alaska Fish Map smartphone app and then can be uploaded to the ISN database when a Wi-Fi connection is available. Data will then be shared with ADF&G for validation and use in the AWC nomination process. Nominations to ADF&G are reviewed on an annual basis for inclusion in the AWC. If you want to request access to your data or delete your account please contact the administrators at isn@aleut.com. The process for account deletion is manual and takes up to 3 working days to complete. You will be notified when the user account and personal data have been deleted

Blue Post brings the notifications from your other phone to your iPhone. If you carry two phones, the notifications keep arriving on the one that is in your bag. Blue Post lets you read them on the iPhone in your hand, without taking the other phone out. ■ What this app does • Shows the notifications that arrive on your other phone here on your iPhone. They are kept in a list, so you can read them again after you dismiss them. • Sends the notifications that arrive on this iPhone to your other phone, so you can leave this iPhone in your bag instead. • Each direction has its own switch. You can use just one of them. • Shows the battery level of your other phone, and tells you when it is running low. • Shows where you were the last time the two phones were connected, so you can tell where you left the other one. That place stays on this iPhone and is never sent anywhere. ■ Connected directly over Bluetooth The two phones talk to each other directly over Bluetooth. Notifications do not travel over the Internet, there is no account to create, and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. Because it is a Bluetooth link, the connection depends on the distance between the two phones and on the radio conditions around you, and it can drop. ■ What you need • This iPhone, and one other phone to pair it with. • The other phone must be an Android phone with the Blue Post companion app installed. The two apps are one product: neither half does anything on its own. • Bluetooth turned on on both phones. • Two iPhones cannot be paired with each other. ■ Setting up 1. Install Blue Post on both phones. 2. Grant the permissions this app asks for, in the order it asks. 3. Scan the pairing QR code shown on the other phone. 4. Send yourself a test notification and check that it arrives on the other side. ■ Made for • People who carry two phones — one for work and one for private life, or a main phone and a spare. • People who keep the second phone in a bag or a pocket and miss what arrives on it. • People who would rather not pick up both phones every time one of them buzzes.
