Should you dive today? Diveable gives you a straight answer. Diveable opens on the dive sites nearest you, ordered by distance — or search thousands more around the world, or press and hold the map anywhere on the coast. Every spot gets a clear rating: Great, Good, Fair, Poor, or Don't Dive. Diveable finds the best daylight windows over the next week and shows you exactly what's behind the call. WHAT IT LOOKS AT: • Swell height, period, and direction — shaped by each site's exposure and shelter • Wind and gusts • Tide state and timing from the nearest NOAA station, in US waters • Ocean current and water temperature • Recent rain and chop, for an honest visibility estimate BUILT FOR NEWER DIVERS Never learned to read a marine forecast? Every rating breaks down into plain-English factor cards — how the swell is hitting this particular site, what the wind is doing to the surface, where the tide is — so you can see which one is the problem today. STRAIGHT WITH YOU The rating comes from a fixed, published scoring recipe over live forecast data — including hard stops for thunderstorms, big surf, and strong current. Tap "The raw numbers" on any spot to see every reading behind the score. KNOW A SPOT WE DON'T? Suggest it. We check the coordinates against public map data and the marine forecast before it goes on the map for everyone — and tell you what we found either way. No account. No ads. No tracking. A forecast is never a promise. Always assess conditions in person, check local reports, and dive within your training.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Diveable at none against Tennis Channel's 8. Diveable also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). Tennis Channel's advantage is chart position (#31 vs unranked) and device support (4 vs 1). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
