Learn a language by speaking it, with the AI tutor you choose. Pick the language you want to learn: Spanish, French, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Dutch or Russian. Then pick your tutor, like Sofia, Amélie, Emily, Meilin or Alex. Each one has their own voice, personality and teaching style, and every tutor teaches every language. ▸ REAL VOICE CONVERSATIONS Talk out loud about the situations you actually face: ordering food, travel, small talk, meeting new people. ▸ ROLE-PLAYS, OR MAKE UP YOUR OWN Play a scene before you live it. Or describe any situation and your tutor plays the other person. ▸ PRONUNCIATION FEEDBACK Repeat a phrase after your tutor and see which sounds to work on. Your progress keeps track of them. ▸ A PLAN FOR YOUR WEEK One step a day, a streak to keep, and the words you have learned, all in one place. ▸ EXPLAINED IN YOUR LANGUAGE Your tutor speaks your language and teaches the one you chose, so a beginner is never lost. ▸ BLISS+ Your first tutor and language are free. Bliss+ unlocks every other tutor and language, all the role-plays and unlimited conversation. Switch tutor or language whenever you like. Bliss+ is an auto-renewable subscription, weekly or yearly. Verdict
Mimir and Language Learning both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Language Learning's written reviews are positive against 60% of Mimir's. Language Learning also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 10 days) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.1). Mimir's advantage is ratings volume (128 vs 11). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mimir sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Language Learning sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Mimir against 4.6 for Language Learning. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mimir has 128 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Mimir's written reviews are positive against 100% of Language Learning's.
Mimir ships an update every 10 days, Language Learning every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
