This application addresses a critical gap for photographers using Mirrorless/DSLR cameras, which lack the comprehensive sensor data available on smartphones. By placing the smartphone atop the camera, users can capture essential orientation and sensor information. A unique feature of our app is its sophisticated calibration system. This allows users to precisely “reset” the orientation once the phone is positioned, ensuring accurate data capture. This calibration, implemented using robust numerical methods to overcome the inherent instability of Quaternions for small rotations, is a significant technical achievement.
