FaceDepth turns your camera into a depth camera. Point it at a face and the shape of that face appears as a live, colour-mapped depth image — at around 30 frames a second, computed entirely on your iPhone. There is no server. There is no account. There is no upload. The neural network ships inside the app and runs on the device's own GPU, so FaceDepth works in aeroplane mode, in a basement, and on the day the internet is having a bad time. A setting times the model across CPU, GPU and Neural Engine and picks whichever is genuinely fastest on your iPhone — which is not always the one you would expect. The camera also asks for exactly the frame rate the pipeline can sustain, so it does not waste power capturing frames it would only throw away. PRIVACY FaceDepth collects nothing. No analytics, no crash telemetry, no advertising identifier, no accounts. Camera and microphone access are used only to produce the image and video you are looking at. Photo library access is used only to read the file you choose and to save the result you asked for. Requires iOS 26.
