Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Solokus at every 3 weeks against Light Cross's every 9 months. Light Cross's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (51 vs 11). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Light Cross sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Solokus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Light Cross holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 51 and 11 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Light Cross's written reviews are positive against 87% of Solokus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Light Cross ships an update every 9 months, Solokus every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
