Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Squaring at none against Match Attack's 1. Squaring also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Match Attack's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 19 months) and ratings volume (12 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Match Attack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Squaring asks for nothing beyond the download.
Squaring holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Match Attack has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
Squaring ships an update every 19 months, Match Attack every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
