In this app for Spanish and English learners, the focus is on daily speaking practice, understanding native speakers and learning vocabulary. Use the daily short activities to prepare for speaking and listening in the real world. Talk spontaneously about a daily topic. After you see the day’s topic, you have 10 seconds and then you need to start speaking about it. It doesn’t matter if you make mistakes - no one is listening (only the AI). Listen to real human native speakers who are talking naturally in real conversations. Test yourself by writing what you hear and finding out if you're correct. You can view a transcript of what they're saying and click difficult words to see an explanation. On the Playlists tab, you can learn and practice vocabulary only by listening. Play a vocabulary list to hear new words with translations, without needing to look at your phone. You could listen and test yourself on vocabulary while walking, driving or cleaning, to maximise your language learning time. Do written or spoken role plays in real life scenarios and see your mistakes corrected. This app was created by a team of two, in the UK, including a qualified language teacher. Avita is the language app where you learn by speaking. Every lesson is a conversation inside a story. You answer out loud in full sentences, and Avita grades every answer and shows you how a native speaker would say it. No multiple choice. No word banks. No tapping tiles. You hear it, you think, you say it. HOW A LESSON WORKS 1. Read. A short text teaches the grammar and words you're about to use. Tap Listen to hear it read aloud with each word highlighted. 2. Warm up. The lesson's key words are ready as flashcards if you want a quick review first. 3. Speak. A character talks to you and you answer out loud. Stuck? Ask for a hint or a translation, or type your answer instead. 4. Get graded. Every answer gets a score, a corrected, natural version and a short reason why. Mistakes are part of the plan. A STORY THAT KEEPS GOING In the Spanish course you move into Edificio Sol, an apartment building in Medellín, Colombia, and get to know your neighbors one conversation at a time, starting with Doña Carmen at the bakery. The Italian course starts a new life in Bologna, and the French course a new life in France. Every lesson moves the story forward, so new words turn up right where you need them. FOUR COURSES, A1 TO B2 • Spanish for English speakers • French for English speakers • Italian for English speakers • English for Spanish speakers Every course has more than 200 lessons across four levels, from A1 (beginner) to B2 (upper intermediate). ALSO INSIDE • Flashcards with spaced repetition: curated decks, or describe any topic and get a custom deck • Tap a highlighted word to hear how it sounds • Streaks with automatic streak freezes, plus daily reminders based on when you last practiced • Stats for your streak, words learned and speaking time • Tips: bite-sized study cards for each language FREE TO START Start your first lesson without creating an account. WHY WE BUILT IT We're two friends who quit our jobs and moved to South America to learn Spanish. Every app we tried taught us words, and none of them got us to what we actually wanted: a real conversation with a real person. So we built the app we wished we'd had. Our goal is to teach you enough to make a friend. After that, they'll teach you the rest. Not just fluent. Connected. Terms of Use: https://avita.lat/terms Privacy Policy: https://avita.lat/privacy
