TTE Standard Views vs AngioAID 3D
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
TTE Standard Views
This app aids in learning cardiac function assessment using transthoracic echocardiography. It provides interactive 3D models and TTE recordings for standard cardiology exam views, allowing users to visualize heart structures from any angle.
- Interactive 3D heart models
- TTE recordings for standard views
- Probe and ultrasound plane visualization
- 3D model rotation
- Rib cage removal option
- Heart model orientation

We have created this interactive application to assist with teaching and learning the assessment of cardiac function with transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). The primary challenge in learning TEE is translating the two dimensional echocardiographic image into a visualization of the three-dimensional (3D) structure of the heart. Users can view the TTE recordings for each of the 20 standard views used in a full cardiology exam and see the corresponding 3D model of the probe, ultrasound plane, heart and rib cage for that view. Each TTE view can be selected from a menu at the left of the screen, or by using arrow buttons to go to the next or previous view in the list. For each TTE view, the 3D model of the probe, ultrasound plane, heart and rib cage can be rotated in the horizontal or vertical plane to view it from any angle. The rib cage can be removed, the part of the heart above the echo plane can be removed, and the heart model can be oriented so the structures correspond to the TTE image.

AngioAID 3D is educational tool designed to teach key concepts of diagnostic angiography of coronary arteries. Developed at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York State's highest volume cardiac cath lab, we aim to provide an interactive learning experience on this important topic. Within a 3D live simulation, you begin by advancing a diagnostic guidewire into the aortic root. Then, advance one of many diagnostic catheter options to either the right of left coronary ostium. Through pushing and pulling, as well as rotation of the catheter, try to achieve a truly co-axial engagement of the coronary ostium with the catheter. Meanwhile monitor the hemodynamic tab which simulated damping from over-engagement or roofing of the catheter tip. Line up the view with the target view, zoom to fill the screen with he coronaries, and rotate the C-Arm LAO/RAO and Cranial/Caudal until you're where you think you need to be. Finally, inject dye and take a cine to compare with the one we actually did in the cath lab for this set of coronaries. In addition to the diagnostic simulation, "Review Mode" allows you to play with angles and panning while always being able to see the vessels with no dye injection needed. Also a collection of key topics have been included within the review mode such as key angiographic angles depending on what you're aiming to see clearly, vessel segmentation conventions, and more coronary anatomy and angiography pearls. We highly recommend you view the tutorial video that is available when you first open the application or from the settings page to understand all of the available functions. The first launch has a normal set of coronary arteries but please stay tuned while we create more sets of coronaries such as anomalous coronaries and bypass grafts.

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: AngioAID 3D at Free against TTE Standard Views's $4.99. AngioAID 3D also leads on device support (3 vs 1). TTE Standard Views's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 8 months vs every 28 months). On rating and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

AngioAID 3D is free to download; TTE Standard Views costs $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for TTE Standard Views against 4.0 for AngioAID 3D. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TTE Standard Views has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
TTE Standard Views ships an update every 8 months, AngioAID 3D every 28 months. Both last shipped on September 25, 2026.
