Check UV before you head out. UV Index provides real-time UV index data for your current location. Powered by ozone data from NASA/OMI satellites and research institutes KNMI and NIWA, it tells you exactly how much UV radiation is hitting your skin right now. UVA and UVB rays are a leading cause of skin aging and dark spots — even on cloudy days and in the shade. [Features] • Intuitive meter-style UV index display • Hourly UV forecast graph to track UV levels throughout the day • Peak UV index and timing alerts • Level-based recommendations (protection gear, SPF/PA, sunburn time) • Apple Health integration — automatically saves UV data to your health records • Retro pixel theme • Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets, including StandBy and Smart Stack [PRO] Enjoy an ad-free experience and the retro theme with an in-app purchase. If you purchased UVmeter before August 28, 2024, tap "Restore Purchases" to reclaim PRO for free.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: UVmeter at 43% against 紫外線予報 UV's 0%. UVmeter also leads on ratings volume (84 vs 1) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). 紫外線予報 UV's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UVmeter sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and 紫外線予報 UV sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
紫外線予報 UV holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UVmeter has 84 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of UVmeter's written reviews are positive against 0% of 紫外線予報 UV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
UVmeter ships an update every 3 weeks, 紫外線予報 UV every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
