About

HA Dash

Features

Turn iPhones and iPads into fast native Home Assistant dashboards for walls, kiosks and everyday control. HA Dash renders supported dashboards as native interface components instead of embedding a web page. FEATURES • Native sections, masonry, panel and sidebar layouts • Live entity updates over WebSocket • Lights, switches, climate, media, cameras, graphs, gauges, people, covers, alarms and more • Kiosk mode with Wake on Touch and remote display control • Dashboard and view switching • Auto, light, dark and gradient themes • Bonjour/mDNS discovery • Trusted-network, long-lived token and OAuth sign-in • Built-in Demo Mode • Open source • iPhone and iPad support from iOS 15 onward in the App Store build LOCAL CAMERA STREAM The optional Local Camera Stream can publish the device’s front or rear camera and microphone as H.264/AAC RTSP while HA Dash remains in the foreground. Supported devices can stream both cameras at once. Capture begins only after an RTSP client authenticates with the unique password generated for that device and requests playback. It stops when the final viewer disconnects, when you turn streaming off, or when HA Dash leaves the foreground. A “Camera + mic live” indicator stays visible over dashboards and kiosk mode whenever capture is active, and can stop it immediately. Home Assistant administrators can register the protected streams as Generic Camera entries from the app. RTSP access uses a password, but the control and media traffic are not encrypted. Use Local Camera Stream only on a trusted local network and never forward its ports. LOCAL HOME ASSISTANT CONTROLS When HA Dash is open, connected and registered, Home Assistant’s local WebSocket notification channel can wake or dim the dashboard, set brightness, navigate dashboards and views, change appearance or kiosk mode, reload, and display notification banners. These commands cannot unlock a device, launch the app from the background, or enable camera capture. PRIVACY HA Dash connects to the Home Assistant infrastructure you configure. Optional device diagnostics may use a Home Assistant Cloud or remote-UI route supplied by your server. Camera and microphone media goes directly to authenticated local RTSP clients and never through a developer relay or cloud media service. The developer receives no personal data, analytics, tracking, telemetry or advertising data from the app. Requires a Home Assistant server accessible from the device, or use Demo Mode without a server. The current App Store build requires iOS 15 or later. Older devices can retain the last compatible App Store version; the open-source project also retains a universal iOS 9.3.3-compatible developer build, where Local Camera Stream requires iOS 10.3.3 or later.
